Groundwater measuring points
Groundwater measuring points “above ground” or “below ground” are used to monitor the groundwater level and groundwater quality. The measuring point expansion must not have any influence on the measured data.
Why are groundwater monitoring wells important?
Reliable data acquisition
Protection against contamination
Adaptability
Technical details and installation
Our groundwater monitoring wells are equipped with PVC or HDPE slotted filters or stainless steel spiral wire filters, which are adapted to the specific geological conditions on site. The solid-wall pipes, which extend to the ground surface, are backfilled with a clay or cement dispersion in the upper area. These measures effectively prevent surface water, such as rain or flooding,
Above-ground groundwater measuring points: Precise monitoring for your water systems
The upper visible section of the groundwater measuring point “above ground” consists of a galvanized steel pipe set in concrete and a lockable dip tube cap. We also offer you a suitable triangular bypass protection frame to secure the measuring point against bypassing. This design principle protects the measuring point from external influences, damage and unauthorized access, while at the same time ensuring easy access to the sounding tube for inspection purposes. We offer customized solutions that are precisely tailored to your needs. Feel free to contact us!
Applications
Our above-ground groundwater measuring points are ideal for:
- Monitoring construction pits during dewatering: Ensuring that construction work is not impaired by unexpected water ingress.
- Clarification of the costs and expenses incurred before the start of construction: Determination of whether and to what extent dewatering is necessary.
- Investigation of the building site for contaminated sites: Identification of potential contaminated sites that could affect the groundwater.

Underground groundwater measuring point: an efficient and unobtrusive solution for monitoring the groundwater level
The end of an “underground” groundwater monitoring well consists of a ground-level road cap set in concrete. The measuring point head located in this cap, a lockable dip tube cap, allows access to the dip tube for monitoring purposes. Such a measuring point is an efficient and unobtrusive solution for monitoring the aquifer and protects it perfectly from external influences. Thanks to the ground-level cover, the measuring point blends harmoniously into the surroundings and is barely visible. The covers are designed to withstand daily wear and tear, be it from traffic or weather conditions. We offer road caps in various designs to meet your individual requirements. Whether oval or square, we have the right solution for you.
DiRo lining material – Discover the DiRo® system, your solution for leak-proof pipe connections
When constructing groundwater monitoring wells, it is crucial to be able to record and evaluate the aquifers separately, regardless of their chemical and hydraulic properties. In order to avoid hydraulic short circuits, high demands are placed on the drilling company and the construction material. With the DiRo® system, the “tight pipe connection”, we offer you an innovative solution that ensures greater safety and reliability when developing groundwater measuring points.
Superior material quality
The DiRo® system uses high-quality PVC-U material that far exceeds the requirements of DIN 4925 for filter and solid-wall pipes made of plasticizer-free polyvinyl chloride. The use of thick-walled PVC pipes results in increased external pressure and tensile strength. In addition, the material used is resistant to many chemical stresses in the groundwater.
Extensive production program
Our DiRo® product range includes pipe sizes in DN 65, DN 115 and DN 125. Each system includes matching PVC slotted filters and pipes, double pipe sockets, installation tools and other accessories.
Innovative functional principle
The heart of the DiRo® system is the socket pipe system. The newly designed PVC pipe double sockets are provided with trapezoidal female threads on both sides and have a central seal to securely hold the PVC pipe spigots. The structure and design of the joint correspond to the chamfered pipe spigot outlet, which enables a precise and tight connection.
Safe and flexible use
The material properties of the central seal allow a plastic-tight transition between the pipe spigots, so that minor pipe deflections in the socket area are possible without loss of seal. Each pipe spigot is equipped with a trapezoidal external thread on both sides, manufactured in accordance with DIN 4925. These external threads are fitted with reusable transport protection caps at the factory to protect the wedge seal. The wedge seals ensure the external sealing of the pipe sockets.
Simple and safe installation
When assembling socket-spigot or spigot-socket, the pre-assembled wedge seal ensures a tight connection in the intended internal clearance of the socket. The required tightening torque for the tight threaded connections is achieved by aligning the factory-preset markings axially. In this position, the pipe connection is secure and meets all requirements and expectations for the construction of groundwater measuring points.
New variant: DiRo® stainless steel wrap wire filter
In addition to the PVC materials, the DiRo® system is also available as a stainless steel wound wire filter. This variant combines the proven tightness and stability of the DiRo® system with the outstanding resistance and durability of stainless steel. Stainless steel wound wire filters are particularly suitable for applications where the highest demands are placed on corrosion resistance and mechanical resilience.
Reliable DiRo® installation tools
In addition to the high-quality pipe systems, we also offer the corresponding DiRo® installation tools. These include
PVC lifting cap: For easy lifting and positioning of the pipes.
Catch clamp: For securely fixing the pipes during installation.
Socket pliers: For precise tightening of the sockets.
Pipe wrench: For firmly gripping and turning the pipes during installation.
Cable plumb bob and depth plumb bob for precise measurements
Our cable plumb bobs and depth sounders provide you with precise measurements to maximize the efficiency of your wells. Discover our selection of water level gauges, which are available in different versions, including mini models, variants with hand drums or with practical racks. These hydrometric measuring devices are suitable for water level and temperature measurement. We also offer additional accessories such as acoustic signals and basic probes for even more precise monitoring. Our depth sounders are also essential instruments for measuring water levels in wells. With high-quality materials and precise construction, they guarantee reliable results.
