A proud milestone for our family business
In September 2024, we at Hilu Brunnenfilterbau OHG celebrated our 130th company anniversary – a proud milestone for our family business, which has stood for quality, innovation and trust in well filter technology for generations. It was a special day on which we not only celebrated our tradition, but also looked to the future together with our loyal customers and partners.
The celebrations took place on our company premises, where we welcomed numerous guests – including long-standing customers, partner companies and friends of our company. We were particularly proud that some of our visitors exhibited their drilling equipment and innovative products, which aroused great interest and lively technical discussions among our participants.
A special highlight was the demonstration by the fire department from Luckenwalde. They clearly showed how a modern fire extinguishing well works – an exciting demonstration that not only impressed our expert guests, but was also an experience for the whole audience.
In addition to the technical insights, there was also plenty of fun to be had: We organized a raffle with attractive prizes for the sports clubs in our region, with all proceeds going towards regional club work.
This day was not only a review of 130 successful years, but also an opportunity to further consolidate the trusting cooperation that is so important to us. We look to the future with confidence and joy – together with our customers and partners who have been with us for so long.

In September, we at HiLu Brunnenfilterbau OHG celebrated our 130th anniversary. Together with our loyal customers and partners, we looked to the future.
We welcomed numerous guests to our company premises and impressed them with a demonstration by the Luckenwalde fire department, who demonstrated a modern fire extinguishing fountain. A raffle for the benefit of regional sports clubs rounded off the celebration.
This day was an opportunity to consolidate our trusting cooperation and look to the future with optimism.
Sven Oppermann
His son-in-law Sven Oppermann has been managing director of HiLu Spezialhandel GmbH for four years and will take over the family business HiLu Brunnenfilterbau in the near future.

The company currently has 14 employees.
Work on our future logistics center “Frankenfelder Chaussee” is progressing rapidly. The opening is planned for 2015.

New location
The company moves to its current location in the newly created premises at Spandauer Strasse 49-51.
Peter Oppermann takes over the company in the 4th generation
The son, Peter Oppermann, takes over the company in the 4th generation.
After the reunification of Germany, the necessary, gradual conversion of production and expansion of the machinery begins.
Heinz Oppermann manages the company
The son-in-law, Heinz Oppermann, now manages the company. Traditional well construction is discontinued in favor of expanding production. Due to the prevailing regime in the GDR, private companies are not welcome.
Twenty years of improvisation and hardship on a personal and operational level begin. The wear and tear is enormous, new technologies are not feasible. Material shortages lead to frequent bottlenecks.
HiLu receives the "trademark" award
State production approval for the HiLu slotted mesh filter
On July 6, 1950, Alfred Hirsch receives state production approval for the HiLu slotted hole fabric filter using Vinidur semi-finished products.
In the years that followed, this share of production in the privately run craft business became increasingly important.
Alfred Hirsch takes over the business
Alfred Hirsch, son of Julius Hirsch, takes over the business.
In addition to coppersmithing, the well construction division is established. With the beginning of the Second World War, the supply of products for the trades deteriorates.
Improvisation leads to the production of well filters, initially for the company’s own use.
Alfred Hirsch received replacement semi-finished products in the form of the first plastic pipes (Bakelite) from Buna-Werke during the war. Several development steps then led to the basic idea of today’s HiLu slotted fabric filter.
Julius Hirsch moves to Luckenwalde
Julius Hirsch sees new economic goals in the wake of industrialization in the Berlin suburbs and moves to Carlstraße 61 (today Puschkinstraße) in Luckenwalde.
